2011 has brought a new era to the women's
professional bass fishing world with the first full year of the Lady Bass
Anglers Association! Only the test of time will reveal the potential of this
trail, but if the experiences of the first tournament are any indication it
is going to be like nothing before!
The connection amongst all of the ladies who participated at Lake Sam
Rayburn was evident not only at the location but in the days and weeks that
followed. There is something distinctly different about this group of ladies
even though there are many familiar faces and a growing number of new faces.
All collectively have merged and joined forces to move and grow this tour.
While it would be incredible to have huge numbers of ladies fishing each
event, history tells us that starting out big is not necessarily key in
winning the long race. Each of the previous tours has started out with
impressive numbers only to fade over time. Starting out on a slow, steady
pace will build a long and lasting organization that is of the ladies, by
the ladies, for the ladies, present and future!
I challenge each of you to become a part of this
journey in your own way. For some that commitment will be to become a member
or an associate member. For yet others it will be jumping in and fishing one
of more of the events. There are yet those sitting on the fence who can not
yet decide what to do! I liken that to going to an ice cream shop and trying
to decide which flavor without every asking for a sample! Try a sample, if
it is not for you, then at least you will know for yourself. I really think
you will like it!
May your next fish be the fish of a lifetime!
