Meeting and Tournament Photos
We are planning our kick-off tournament for September 16-18, 2010. Our
initial announcement was for the tournament to be held on either be on
Lake Guntersville, Alabama or Sam Rayburn, Texas. We have since been
told that a tournament is already being held on Lake Guntersville that
conflicts with our dates.
Because the official tournament was cancelled, all sponsors will
continue to have their logos posted and recognition given up to and
including the September tournament.
We are working on setting up a means of collecting membership dues. All
memberships paid from now through 2011 will be valid until December 31, 2011.
Our online store link will be available in the near future as well.
SPONSOR APPROACH PROTOCOL was put together to provide consistency when
we are talking to potential trail sponsors. We will make every effort to
keep the name of the individual who works to bring a sponsor onboard for
the tour. We can not promise that a sponsor will choose to sponsor the
lady who creates the opportunity.
Monday May 17, 2010
With all of the information compiled from the Kentucky meeting, the work
has shifted toward the future. we are working on the kick-off tournament
and the 2011 schedule. Secret has taken the list of suggested lakes as
well as the list of cities who have approached us to begin the process.
A couple of good questions have been posed and we want to address both
of them.
First Question: What is a Wildcard? A wildcard is an idea that we have
developed to keep ladies who are not in the top 20 championship spots
fishing all of the tournaments including the last one. We are planning
on having 30 spots for the championship. 20 from our national tour. The
Northeast division will qualify on a average of their participation. If
they average 25 or more boats per tournament they earn five championship
spots. 20 boats = 4 spots and so on down the line. Dave Kilby will be
running the Northeast Division as a totally separate trail except for
qualifying ladies for the championship. All anglers from the Lady Bass
Anglers Association who do not qualify for the championship and fish ALL
of the tournaments will earn a "Wildcard" chip. All of these chips will
go into a container (Pro and Co-Anglers in separate containers). Chips
will be drawn out to fill the remaining available championship slots.
That means at least five ladies will then be added to the list of those
fishing in the championship tournament. More to come on this topic.
Second Question: Are we paying someone to build our web page? Yes, we
are working with a web builder to develop a professional web page that
will help to attract and keep quality sponsors while meeting our
specific needs. Items we have identified as needs include: Hours of
fully edited for TV videos, online magazine, organization newsletter,
online registration, online store, sponsor pages, tournament location
information, results pages, press release pages, and some other
components. This will allow us to grow without great expense once it is
set up and allows for ongoing technical support and the ability to
access and update the page from anywhere we can get internet access.
The press release has gone out and we are starting to get them posted in
various locations.
Several media outlets have been contacting Secret and I for interviews.
One was supposed to post today in North Carolina in The News and
Observer out of Raleigh, NC. Some of these have come about due to the
work of many of our lady anglers spreading the word! Great job ladies!!
Keep on spreading the word.
We will be holding our kick-off tournament on Lake Dardanelle in
Russellville, Arkansas September 16-18, 2010. Lake Guntersville was
booked on our dates and there was much concern over Sam Rayburn in the
fall in light of hurricane season. Promoters in the Rayburn area
are working with us for 2011!
LBAA merchandise is now available online through Vickie Barlow. Her web
page is
www.vickiesthreadworks.com and she also has a Facebook Page Vickie's
Thread Works.
We are working to set up a way for ladies to become members and pay
their membership fees. This should be ready in the near future.

-
Secret has been contacting our Board of Directors and setting up a
meeting the weekend of July 10th.
-
Secret is also working on the 2011 schedule. Thank you to all of the
ladies who provided input on the lakes and times of year. Also thank you
to the ladies who have helped with making those local contacts.
-
Martha Goodfellow made a great point in an email recently. If each lady
talks up the Lady Bass Anglers Association in her area, it could be
bigger and stronger than any of us can imagine!

Many ladies have been inquiring into when we will be accepting
memberships and tournament registrations. Here is what we know right
now:
-
Membership forms and dues will be available
Vickie's Thread Works late this week or early next week. Those
wishing to pay with credit or debit cards may do so through Vickie's
site until our official web page is ready. Membership forms will need to
be downloaded, filled out and mailed to Lady Bass Anglers Association, %
Vickie Barlow 774 Sugar Creek Road, Grand River, Kentucky 42045. This is
the same address that ladies who wish to pay with cashier's checks or
money orders will mail forms as well.
-
Tournament registrations will not be opened until after the Board of
Directors meeting early next month. Registration fees and tournament
rules will be completed at that meeting and released as soon as
possible.
Monday June 7, 2010
-
The first memberships started coming in to Vickie this week. The first
lady to join the LBAA is Diane Smith!
-
Secret has been working hard on the 2011 schedule and is getting the
applications to the cities filled out and returned.
-
If you pay online, you need to add the $3.00 processing fee so your
membership will actually end up being $53.00. This only applies if you
are paying by credit or debit card. Those mailing payments in will only
pay $50.00. Everyone must download the membership form and mail it to
Vickie.

Membership just keeps growing! Anyway, wanted to thank you for
sending the references. Everyone spoke so highly of yourself and your
association! Guntersville would be pleased to host y’all! The board has
approved your application, ..."

A lot has been happening. As many of our Board members as could, me this

long drive home.

type membership came from Kenny Lively! You can access the updated
