Great interest has been expressed by
anglers and fans for a Women's Professional Bass Fishing Trail since the
announcement on Monday, January 4, 2010 that our tour had been
eliminated. There have also been groups who are inquiring about
organizing and running a trail for women. So much so, my head has been
swimming. If we want a tournament trail that provides us an avenue to
fish professionally, grow and nurture those ladies with interest,
provide future generations with these opportunities, ...we need to step
back and as a collective group make some decisions that will lay a
strong and lasting foundation.
There will be a Women's Tournament
on Kentucky Lake in May open to all interested ladies with two
divisions; a Professional and a Co-Angler We looked at our
original tour dates for June, however, the Elite Series is fishing that
week out of Paris Landing. Efforts to get publicity for us during the
same time frame would not work in our favor.
Kentucky lake was chosen for
support, access and financial reasons. The Moors Resort and Marina
is going to provide us with a meeting room, at no charge, for all
pre-tournament activities. This room will also be utilized before and after the
tournament to map out our future. The Moors Resort and Marina will also
provide discounts on room reservations for anglers participating in this
tournament The Sportsmen's Edge, is the local Triton boat dealer. They are
providing us with all of the things we need for running the tournament
including trailer, weigh scales, etc. Both of these groups are doing so
for advertising privileges and to show their support women in fishing!
I will post links on this page
with all of the information related to this event. This will include a profile of the tournament director for this event as
well as entry fees, payouts, and accommodations information as soon as possible.

decide how we want to approach our future as women who want to fish

switch checks, checking boat flights in, checking and measuring fish and
